ABOUT TANGOS AI
Tangos AI is building the AI platform that automates financial crime investigations. Compliance teams at banks and fintechs drown in alerts (money laundering, fraud, sanctions), and every one of them still ends with a human writing up a case by hand. Our platform maps entities and ownership structures, gathers and reasons over the evidence, and produces a documented, audit-ready investigation file.
We’re a small, senior team with people from U.S. Treasury/OFAC, Israeli intelligence, and AI research, and early enough that the people we hire now will shape the architecture, not inherit it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll build the interfaces investigators use all day. Our product turns complex, AI-generated reasoning into something an analyst or regulator can follow, check, and trust: entity graphs, timelines, evidence, and the final case file.
You’ll own the frontend design, architecture, and user experience end to end, working directly with the founders, product, and compliance experts. If you care about how a screen reads as much as how it’s built, this role is for you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build the product’s interfaces in React and TypeScript, with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui.
- Design and build data-heavy views across the investigation-to-report journey: entity and ownership graphs, timelines, traceable evidence tables, and case files.
- Make AI output clear and reviewable: show the reasoning, the sources, and the confidence behind every finding.
- Own the frontend architecture: reusable components and design system, state management, accessibility, reliability, and performance.
- Turn rough specs and domain input into polished, usable screens, working closely with investigators, with clear loading, error, and partial-result states.
- Build bulk-screening, configuration, and recurring review workflows, including requests for information and alerts.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests, end-to-end coverage with Playwright, and regression and performance checks for critical user journeys.
- Define and validate API contracts and data handling with the backend team, and own reliable frontend integration.
- Own delivery from planning and design through implementation, code review, testing, validation, integration, release, and production defect resolution.
REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of frontend development experience in production.
- Proven experience delivering production systems used by external users.
- Strong experience with React and TypeScript.
- Experience with a modern component and styling stack (Tailwind, shadcn/ui, or equivalent).
- Experience building complex, data-heavy interfaces such as dashboards, data grids, or visualizations.
- A strong eye for UX, and the ability to make complex information easy to read.
- Working experience with Playwright or a comparable E2E testing framework.
- Strong knowledge of high-standard software development: frontend design and architecture, maintainable code, coding standards, reviews, automated testing, and disciplined releases.
- Works with AI development tools daily (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) as a core part of the workflow.
- Excellent English, written and spoken.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience building B2B products for enterprise users.
- Experience with graph or network visualization libraries (for example D3, Cytoscape, React Flow).
- Experience building UIs for LLM/agent-based products.
- Some backend experience with Node.js / NestJS.
- Background in fintech, compliance, AML/KYC, fraud, or another regulated domain.
